Even though we know that living within a toxic home reduces our chance for health and wellness, not everyone will make the change to non-toxic living. Yet every small change has a large effect upon the environment. Switching can be quite pleasing, as the air in your home feels fresh and pure, the taste of water has a dramatic change, health issues; like headaches, back aches, emotional issues seem to just slip away. Many people can fairly quickly see physical and mental changes in a short time after changing your home from a toxic to non toxic environment. This especially affects children whose bodies and brains are developing. We have paid dearly for the “ease” that went with the loss of natural cleaning supplies. They made our lives easier while our health and that of the earth declined. Is today the day you begin to bring your home into a non toxic health and wellness environment? If not now, when?

Living Green in a Non Toxic Home Environment

Create Your Non Toxic Home Environment ~ Living Green 3

By Tana Hamiter- Goes Green

Many of you are realizing that the number of toxic chemicals in your homes and environment are seriously impacting children, youth and adults health physically and mentally. Is yours the average home? 150 chemicals found in the home are connected to allergies, birth defects, cancer and psychological disorders. [Source:2006 Consumer Protection Agency (CPA)] Living green is becoming a goes green family and is more accepted by some and absolutely ignored by others, sad to say.

There are many simple tips on green living that do not seem like they would make a lot of difference, but they do. Even small steps you take have a large impact. How do you start developing a non toxic home environment? The same way you eat an elephant, one bite at a time.

First obviously, get rid of all scented products, not only are they un-needed but there is an alarmingly sharp rise of people who have environmental allergies. That leads from mild to others carrying mini respirators, avoiding all public places like theaters, many stores, and even becoming home bound. Fragrances are an artificial ingredient made normally of chemicals.

By the way, what is the scent of clean? NO, not strong Pine, Clorox or even Ammonia. That may be what your grandmothers believed, but in reality it is bring poison into your home. Green clean is just that, no smell at all. Toxins are poisons affecting your health.

Look carefully at the way your landry is handled. This is an area where many are ‘programmed’ to use products out of habit. There is no need for dryer sheets, fabric softeners, Clorox or detergents that are scented. These types of products are not green clean; they are toxic to your home, family and the environment.

Water is our life blood. Take steps to drink and bathe only in filtered water. Many are turning to bottled water, sham sham on you! All that plastic ends up the landfills, plus they use so many resources of water and fuel to produce and deliver. Also most of those bottles leach toxins into the water your drinking.

It is much better to purchase one of the many BPA-Free Water Bottles, available at camping and out-door fitter stores, co-ops and now even in many grocery stores. They come in many colors and are a high grade plastic that does not leak toxic chemicals. Be sure to keep it very clean. There have been studies where tests are done at gyms where many people use water bottles. Most were from moderate to heavily contaminate from not being properly cleaned.

Living green means refilling your bottle from a fresh filtered water sources at home. A high quality filter on kitchen sink is one way. Or on the refridgrator door but that is hard to fill pots with so people often just head for the sink again. Or best yet, one for the home so the showers are coverd as well. Your skin is the largest organ for detox and bringing in chemicals.

Do yourself and your family a favor, stay out of chlorine pools, use saline pools instead. That toxic chlorine is in your blood stream in minutes. The same goes with your showerhead, are you bathing in toxins unknowingly every morning?

As to your clothing, did you know that when you buy wrinkle resistant or permanent press, these cloths are treated with formaldehyde that never washes out? Our skin is the largest organ for detoxing, it stands to reason that it also takes in toxins lying against it.

Eat home grown organic foods as much as possible. Now most people do not have land any more to grow organic gardens so you will most likely need to seek out a good store in your area. You and your family are worth it! Additives like NutraSweet (aspartame) bread down into formic acid which they use to as ant-sting poison and methanol which is wood alcohol to your body.

Any non toxic home environment will be living green with clean cleaning products and personal-care products. There is a simple test you can take to determine how green your home is. Change one thing at a time or go for the gold, and do a home make over, getting the whole family involved.

Even in the most polluted cities, the outdoor air has been found to be less toxic than the indoor air! So throw open your windows as often as possible! The freshness feels so good.

It is hoped that these simple tips on green living will lead you to take those small steps that make such a big difference. Your family is worth a non toxic home environment. Living green is not that hard with a little planning and some practice until it becomes habit. Share information with others, friends and family. We can make a difference in our Health and Wellness.

How Eco Friendly is YOUR Home?

Published by Tana Hamiter - Goes Green Mentor

We have much to learn and do something about the condition of our homes. That place of safty where we spend the major part of our lives. The place where we raise our children. Yet what do we really know ---

CHECK OUT THE FACTS - DID YOU KNOW?

* 150 chemicals found in the home are connected to allergies, birth defects,
cancer and psychological disorders. [Source:2006 Consumer Protection Agency (CPA)] Consider high quality Green Air Cleaners.

* Women who work in the home have a 54% higher death rate from cancer than women who work outside of the home. [Source:2006- 17- year EPA study]

We all have a choice to make. Time of talking is over, it is the time of action
and it begins in our home. Take the opportunity to be a part of changing the
world and make the environmentally conscious decision to preserve the PLANET we ive on so that our children and their children will also be able to enjoy its beauty for years to come. Eco Friendly with Homes Going Green!

What can YOU do to make your home a Goes Green Home and Safer for your health and that of your family? Health problems, both physical and emotional are rising to unprecedented heights in the US and the industrialized world. You can take many steps to safe guard your water, air and radically reduce the chemicals in your home. Consider a Pure Clean Water System for your family.

First suggestion is to make a family commitment to clear your home of toxic chemicals. But at what level?

There are many different reasons and ways in which people will make daily choices. Much of which in my opinion will not happen in America until people feel they have to. We have grown into a very national point of view rather than globel. That is starting to give way as we realize that the resources of the earth must be shared. Each family has to make that choice and it’s a difficult choice because it requires change and commitment to follow through. Change can be challanging even when we want to do it due to ingrained habits.

My husband and I, in ourhome took boxes, many boxes and went from room to room gathering ALL toxic and non environmentally friendly products: cleaning supplies, scented candles and incenses, personal care products that were made with fragrances or other chemical components, laundry supplies, etc. We were shocked when we were done at the number of boxes and the vast array of chemicals in our home. They were removed! We opened the doors and windows and aired out the house.

We were commited to non toxic cleaning supplies! But it does take viligance as things can creep back in a little here and a little there. Every once in a while we have to review each room and see if we find any hidden surprises.

Then as we replaced with products that were:

* Nontoxic - chemical free
* Natural
* Highly Concentrated
* Biodegradable
* No phosphates
* No chlorine
* Never tested on animals
* Fragrance Free

Our first surprise was how few products we needed to do the same tasks and
how much money we would and did save due to the fact that many ecofriendly products are very highly concentrated and a little dab will do ya (like grandma would say).

Second surprise was the high quality and convenience of not needing to drive to pick up things. They arrived either by auto ship in a timely manner at our home or some I ordered just as needed. I searched the net for companies that met my needs as well as suppoting our local Co-Op stores. Supporting local helps keep our friends and neighbors with a job. We especially noticed a big difference as we washed our clothing and got the chemicals and smells out of our clothing.

Health improved, attitudes improved and pocket book improved. Friends
commented (they didn’t know what we had done) on how … well…. Something just felt different in our home, lighter! Then we explained and several of them made changes to their homes. Goes Green is catching on all over the country. AND it does make a huge impact on your home, family and the environment. Environmently leading to a Goes Green Health and Welness home.
We already had the water filers in place so that was covered.

But the clean air was another issue to face. So step by step we changed our habits and have been the healthier for it. You too have a Goes Green Home but if the way we did it is too intimidating, then take one step at a time; one area of change perhaps each month.

Perhaps the laundry area first; then cleaning supplies and so on until your home is a safer and healthier home. has been the leader in the industry for natural cleaning, highly concentrated with so many uses that it stops the need for purchasing so many differnt cleaners.

Go for a Goes Green home for Health and Wellness.

Toxic Free for Laundry and Garden

What Bio-degradable Detergent is Perfect for Home Laundry to Watering Plants?

Published by Tana Hamiter - Goes Green Mentor

How can a small act like doing the laundry be such a big effect on the environment? But it is just laundry you say.

Water is becoming a rare resource and most people probably have never given a thought to reusing the water from their washer for laundry, but maybe we should be thinking it over. My husband is a plumber pipefitter and says that any simple plumber or handy man could rig a system and the water could be used to water gardens and yards.

We have large organic gardens and I use a Green Liquid Laundy Product.
It is natural, biodegradable, concentrated, and hypoallergenic with no phosphates or chlorine. It is perfect for the garden and vegetables.

In fact adding a bit of this soapy water and a dab of liquid garlic and cayenne pepper, no self respecting bug will hang around to harm your plants. Aphids and others swiftly move on to greener pastures.

You could really rethink it over and see if you want to consider water from sinks and bathtubs as well. These are all way is called gray water and can be reused if no toxins are used with it.

Every drop of water wasted will be of concern more and more as our aquifers are going dry and the water we get from the mountain ranges are gone in many places and disappearing fast in others. As our over use of water from the aquifers grew we also found through climatic changes that the expectation of an abundance of fresh water is becoming a thing of the past. I remember when grandma and grandpa always had rain barrels. Perhaps time to rethink it and be more proactive.

People who used a Goes Green Laundry Liquid also use Green Stain Removers
and Green Fabric Softener; again, all are eco friendly. Being in construction, my husband’s work cloths can get dirtier than most but we have been very pleased with how well the products work and I love the concentration and savings on money, plus it comes right to my door or I make sure to use the Co-Op, buy local is a goes green plan as well. I’d suggest getting the Pump for handy dispensing of laundry liquid. Two squirts for us and it is ready to wash, no mess, no fuss.

It has just good clean laundry and a happy soil where the water goes. All is as it should be – Go Green!
